Over the years I have had so many great travel experiences. I have been blessed to have been able to travel extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally as well. A large part of the equation that made this possible was my keen eye for travel bargains. While most people pick a destination and then hunt for the best deal on flights and hotels, smarter travelers are approaching the process in reverse. Maybe you have $500 and no particular destination that you are locked into, where can you go? There is an app for that. Elude, a new app for the iPhone, is providing a solution. With Elude, your travel search begins with your budget. I really like this approach, and have been using it myself for years.

Another tool I love for this is Kayak Explore. After setting my home airport (Orlando) the map populates with airfare options worldwide. As you can see from the screenshot below, there is an incredible deal for a flight to Puerto Rico.

Below is a video demo on how to use Kayak. I recorded this about three years ago, but nothing has changed on how to use the site.

Feel free to use the discussion area below to post your own question or budget travel strategy that has worked for you.
